Add-on Module - Project Explorer
The Project Explorer (PE) provides an overall view of a project, and allows you to create work items as well as monitor project progress. It also allows you to dig into details of each work item, which is tracked by a ticket, therefore, it is also called tracking ticket. The PE is an integrated functional module of Easy!Flow and is an option for Easy!TTS Pro.
Benefits
- Allows managers to monitor progress and assess risks of a project or a selected set of work items
- Provides any team member with an individually customizable and up-to-date progress view, as well as convenient access to each ticket
- Well-organized and easy-to-use UI screen to improve productivity
Most of the settings of PE, including the size of each displaying pane and contents, are user definable, and are saved in the user's web browser cookie. Each team member may define one based on his/her role so he/she can be more efficient and productive.
The PE is divided into four display panes (refer to the screenshot below). The query filter pane (upper-left) allows you to either specify query criteria, or to reuse a saved query to get a set of tracking tickets, which is presented in a two dimensional tree grid form in the query results tree pane.
Vertically, these tracking tickets are listed in a hierarchical order with tickets in peer-to-peer or parent-and-child relationship. Horizontally, the grid view shows the attributes of each ticket. What attributes to display and in what order is individually customizable. Double click on any tickets, a full ticket view is displayed in the ticket properties pane and description pane, where you can conveniently update the ticket info.
As the project progresses, new work items may be created, assigned and tracked. This is done via "New Peer" or "New Child" option of a right-click dropdown menu. By selecting the "Help" menu item, you will find the help file for each option.
